I wanted to create an interactive display that showcases how HOME are sustainable.

Problem

HOME Manchester are a modern contemporary art centre that covers all media. Over the past couple of years, they have transformed themselves to become sustainable and encourage all of their staff to do the same. However, this area that makes them special is something that isn’t well known by new visitors to the centre.

The objective of this project was to create a way to showcase the ways that this art centre has transformed over the years to become a beacon of sustainability and showcase how this is an achievable goal to all companies throughout Manchester.

Features

  • Physical models combined with QR codes and Augmented Reality
  • Models showcase the ways HOME have become sustainable
  • HOME app that links to the physical models aswell as the current services HOME provide
  • Possibility for further expansion, easily add onto the project to show new solutions to sustainability

Models to fit with the contemporary art theme the centre has.

Solution

In a group we designed, developed and prototyped hexagon models to be mounted on the wall of HOME. These models showcase the ways that HOME have become sustainable, each hexagon is combined with a QR code to bescanned by the new HOME app that shows more information about the story behind this new way of sustainability.

  • Interactive display that showcases how HOME have become sustainable.
  • App is simplified as the audience of HOME is extremely diverse, making it suitable for all age groups.
  • QR codes that if scanned by the app show more information about the specific way of sustainability.
  • App for HOME that links to the models as well as the current services HOME provide.
