I wanted to create an experience that promotes what Waterloo Uncovered have achieved.

Problem

Waterloo Uncovered are a veteran charity who do yearly archaeological projects at the battle of Waterloo. However, they had no current way of showing what they have achieved throughout their many years doing this work. Therefore, in a team, we were tasked with creating an exhibition piece that can be easily transported to conventions and Waterloo Uncovered community days.

The main objective of this project is to create an interactive display that combines both physical and digital technology to showcase the archaeological findings that Waterloo Uncovered and their volunteer veterans have uncovered that have shaped what is currently known about the battle of Waterloo.

Features

  • Augmented reality  site mapping interactivity
  • Physical model of the area of the battle of Waterloo
  • Application that controls augmented reality sitemapping
  • Animations about key events of the battle of Waterloo

In this project, we took an experimental approach by using new and emerging technologies to showcase the archaeological findings that Waterloo Uncovered has discovered during their many trips to Waterloo.

Solution

  • Suited to specific audience of parents.
  • Structured layout, giving an easy navigational experience.
  • Stayed with Lucia’s Worlds current colour palette.
  • Made to not overshadow the application but compliment it by acting more of a way of accessing it.
  • New newsletter feature to help increase interactions and keep users informed on new episodes of Lucia’s World.
